About Volunteer Support and Community aid in Roscommon, Ireland

While the South Roscommon Community Forum don't award grants to community groups and volunteer organisations, we can provide help and advice when applying for government aid for many projects. Our experience and expertise have allowed many existing organisations in Roscommon to successfully apply for grants.

Generally speaking grant applications follow a standard procedure, and the checklist below will help you to decide if you're ready to apply for grant aid:

  1. Check your eligibility
  2. Has your organisation got a bank account?
  3. Have you got a tax clearance cert?
  4. Have you got insurance for your group's activities?
  5. Do you have matching funds available?

This checklist is generic and will help you on your way to grant aid approval, but each grant is somewhat different and will require specific input from your group. Below are some projects which, with our assistance, have made succesful applications for grant aid.

Developing Local Facilities

Many sports groups have received assistance to apply for funding to develop local sports facilities. Successful projects include the new Fuerty GAA development at Mulhern Park, where the local club were awarded €200,000 through the Sports Capital Programme run by the Department of Tourism and Sport.
